Falguni Pathak

Falguni Pathak (Gujarati: ફાલ્ગુની પાઠક, Hindi: फाल्गुनी पाठक), born March 12, 1964, is an acclaimed singer and is performing artist from India, based in Mumbai. Her music is based on traditional musical forms from the Indian state of Gujarat. Since her professional debut in 1998, she has developed into an artist with a large fan base across India.

Her debut album was released in 1998, and she has also recorded numerous songs for Bollywood movies. The theme of most of her songs is love. She has performed in many shows in India and other countries, backed by a band called Tha Thaiyaa. She has made her appearance in television shows like Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Kaun Banega Crorepati & Star Dandiya Dhoom.

She has some very popular singles to her credit, still heard and appreciated all over India. Her albums are not only famous for the melodious songs but also for the cute love stories depicted with them. She is very popular with the Gujarati community where she is called to perform for popular festivals like Navratri.

Some of her popular songs include "Chudi jo khanki haath ma", "Maine payal hai chhankai", "Meri chunar udd udd jaye", etc.

Falguni Pathak, rightly coined as the undisputed 'Queen of Dandiya' is a hot favourite personality in the dandiya world. A very talented and energetic performer, Falguni is considered as a 'Diva' amongst today's young generation. She is not just famous for her powerful vocal talents but also for her stage appearance and entertainment. She is one of the most noted and respected singers in India and abroad with a lot of an-following. She could be rightly called today's 'mover & shaker' in the field of dandiya.

She is backed by a powerful and dedicated band 'Ta Thaiyaa' which provides the required punch to make the show a grand success. With a long list of shows in India and abroad Falguni has come a long way since she started off as a dandiya singer.

And now there is an added achievement in her success story. Falguni has released a pop album of which 'Yaad Piya Ki Ane Lagi' has become a chartbuster.

ABOUT Album Yeh Kisne Jadoo Kiya :

Falguni Pathak, a young and dynamic woman singer who always wears men's dress (trouser and shirt), is back with her another album after 'Yaad Piya Ki Aane Lagi'. The album is titled 'Yeh Kisne Jadoo Kiya' and is released by Universal. Lalit gives the music and Nida Fazli the lyrics. And the song is sung by sweett Falguni. The album consists of 10 tracks.

The first track of the album is the title track 'Yeh Kisne Jadoo Kiya' rendered by Falguni Pathak. The track starts with fine music and Falguni picks the rhythm very well. Nida Fazli's lyrics are fine and Lalit's music is excellent. The picturisation of the song is also excellent. On the whole, this track scores s a good position in the pop chartbusters and attracts lovebirds.

The second track of the album is 'Yeh Mera Kajal Haan Mera Kajal' by Falguni, starts with the fine pitcher beats. The lyrics are okay, and the music is fine. It's a routine song with nothing to mention.

The next track 'O Mithu Miya, O Mithu Miya' is another fine and chunky one by Falguni with a fast beat music. Nida Fazli tries to fit words in Lalit's music through Falguni's voice, but fails. The second last track of side A is 'San San Ude Dupatta Hua Gulabi Mousam' by Falguni Pathak. The music is fast and loveable in the beginning, but later loses the track and Falguni's voice becomes louder than the music.

The last track of side A 'Jhonka Hawa Ka' is another wonderful track rendered by Falguni. This is another fast beat track. The lyrics of Nida Fazli are fine, but not impressive or soothing to listen again and again.

The first track of the side B is 'Sun Re Peepal Tere Patte Shor Machate Hai'. It is another song by Falguni with the same repeat music beats of Lalit. Lalit tries to put music without any major change in this track too. Nida's lyrics are fine. But this is slow and sad one in which the girl complains that the leaves of the 'peepal' tree moving with the wind disturb her.

The next track is 'Sajna Dekha Hai Jabse Tujhe' rendered by Falguni is another chunky one. Lyrics and music are so so. The repetition of the same beat irritates music lovers otherwise Nida and Falguni do their job well.

The third track of the Side B is 'Jate Jate Phool Kali Se Bol Gaya' is another wonderful track by Falguni, Lalit and Nida. The music is good and suits the lyrics of Nida Fazli. This song too scores a good position in the pop chartbuster and attracts lovebirds, especially young girls.

The second last of Side B is again the title track 'Yeh Kisne Jadoo Kiya' without any change from the earlier one. This shows that Falguni falls short of songs as she repeats the title track again without change.

The last track of the side B is 'Bola Chhat Pe Aakar Kaga' is another fast beat song. But this time Lalit gives the excellent music and Falguni sing this track in a Gujarati folk style. This is another good one by Falguni and her team

On the whole, we can say that Falguni Pathak tries to hit her album only by one or two songs of 'Yeh Kisne Jadoo Kiya'. The lyrics of Nida Fazli are fine but the repetition of music by Lalit irritates the audience and forces them to forward the track. Falguni Pathak is again lucky. The choreography in her songs is always her USP. This time too Falguni takes this album on her own.
