Aditi Paul Born in Kolkata to a highly educated Bengali
Family, her proficiency in singing was dicovered by her parents at a very
young age. Her entry into singing happened at a very early age through
the hands of her mother. Her Aunt and Pt. Ajay Chakraborty disciples of
Ustad Munawar Ali Khan Sahab were her main inspiration. As she grew up
she started her formal training of Classical bengali Songs at the hands of Pt. Ajay Chakraborty.
She is currently training under Bhavdeep Jaipurwale in Mumbai. Seeing her competency and her zeal to enthral people her parents left no stones unturned to ensure she competesin the Indian Idol Season 1 contest in 2004 and finished sixth among all other contestants.Her mesmerising voice won the hearts of many and she turned out to be one of the most popular Indian Idol Contestant. Then on, her professional career as an artist took off when her voice was recognised by many music directors who signed her for various musical contracts. From Advertisements to Small to Big Screens, her voice is there.
Indian Idol finalist Aditi Paul-Majumdar (that's how she wants to be referred to post marriage) has shifted base from Kolkata to Mumbai to pursue a career in playback singing.
Best remembered as the most lively and emotional Idol contestant (tears and laughter were a constant in every round), Aditi is "learning to survive in the city."
More importantly "understanding how people operate here, especially in the music industry." In all this, Aditi, has gained oodles of confidence and has undergone a transformation.
