A suitor comes but after knowing his disgusting mindset , she lies about not being a virgin & gets rejected. Her mother gets irritated with constants rejections but father understands her. She gets heartbroken after hearing her parents conversation & later pours her heart out before her father who consoles & cheer her. That night she leave her house & despite not knowing to go anywhere takes a train. Meanwhile for time pass she also buys a book from the platform . She feels she's found that special someone when she reads a book called 'Bareilly Ki Barfi' and finds herself described and accepted in the pages of the book. She returns to her home same night. She longs to meet the writer and thus one day decides to search for the supposed writer of the book, Pritam Vidrohi (Rajkumar rao) She , along with her best friend Rama, goes back to the sane book store from where she had brought that book & asks about its writer. The owner in turn takes her name & address to inform them in case he get the writer. The book shop owner leads her to Chirag Dubey(Ayushmann khurana), who owns a printing press and who helped publish the book. What Bitti doesn't know, however, is that Chirag is, in fact, the true author of the book. The bookshop owner , also the best friend of chirag , knew that he is the actual writer.Chirag wrote That book 5 years ago, when he had a heartbreak when his girlfriend married someone else. He wrote that book describing his girlfriend & their love story . But since giving his own name as writer might destroy his ex-girlfriend's reputation, he coax his other meek so-called friend "pritam vidrohi" to have his name as writer of the book. Vidrohi agrees but gets so scared of the possible future scenarios , that he leaves the city without telling anyone. 5 years gone, that no one had purchased a single copy of that book except bitti on that day. Bitti tries to get vidrohi's whereabouts from chirag but chirag successfully manages to agree her on writing letters to that writer instead meeting personally. Bitti writes letters, give it to chirag to send it to vidrohi & chirag answer it for her as he is the original writer. In the meantime both becomes good friends. But now bitti is getting upset that despite repeated requests vidrohi is not agreeing to meet her, & requests chirag to arrange a meeting just once . Chirag agrees & as he has fallen for bitti , decides to tell her that truth that he is the actual writer. But later he learns that bitti's mother hates that writer for spoiling their daughter's mind & thus decides not to tell the truth , instead search for vidrohi & make him the scapegoat. They hunt down vidrohi , who now works as saree salesman in a saree shop & blackmails him to do as per their wish else they will tell his mother that he is a mere salesman not some big manager as she thinks. Vidrohi reluctantly agrees. They give a makeover to him & teaches him to behave , look & act exactly opposite of bitti's liking.
